The four elements as frequencies

Part one

Generally speaking, we can define the four substances we introduce into our bodies in breathing, drinking, eating, and absorbing impressions as the four elements of air, water, earth, and fire, respectively.

The analogy to the four elements is limited. Its function is to illustrate and explain. One can learn from it but must be careful not to over-stretch the parallels. The goal here is to convey certain knowledge, to be precise in its formulation and presentation, and to facilitate its development and implementation.

We tend to see the elements as substances with known properties and effects. Yet, the elements can be seen as different kinds of processes, and be distinguished by their speed: from the slowest to the fastest - water, earth, air and fire. In fact, we can define the elements as pointing to the relative speeds of movements and vibrations, and even as acceleration or deceleration; Fire and air as upward movement signify acceleration, while water and earth as downward movement relate to deceleration. This is also true at different levels: each element can be divided further into four elements.

The difficulty in communication between the functions of planets located in the elements of fire and air and those found in the signs of earth and water can be understood in the context of the large gap in the rate or frequency of the various elements. With this difficulty in communication, instead of slowing down the faster and speed up the slower in order to synchronize, each planet does what it knows best in its element. So the gap in frequencies endures. This is the natural, automatic course of behavior.

One can take into account the elements that can mediate by their speed that is in between those functions located at the faster and slower elements. However, change is possible only through that which is in us that can contain all the speeds and frequencies. It should also be noted that the task is not to convert the different speeds into one (it is impossible) but to create synchronization between the different frequencies.

Synchronicity can be seen as a mathematical matter (divisions and multiples of frequencies, proportions, including the golden ratio), as well as different vibrations or rhythms that respond and comply to one another according to natural laws, towards synchronized and harmonious functioning.
